The Willow Creek Path is a 2.9 Mile bicycle path financed by the State of Illinois through ISTEA Enhancement Funds. The Path begins at Alpine Road near Harlem High School and follows the general alignment of the Willow Creek to the western edge of Rock Cut State Park.
Design elements of this project included two bridges, lighting, keystone walls, two spur paths, associated drainage and AASHTO signing.
Some screening, fencing, and earth forming was also necessary to be compatible with residential uses along the trail. The project was completed and a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on October 24, 1997.
